Nana’s shortbread (one)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of butter (workable by not room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups white flour

Directions

  1. Set oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream butter in a large bowl using the back of a wooden spoon against the side of the bowl to “cream” the butter.
  3. Add sugar and flour. Beat all with an electric beater/mixer until combined but don’t over beat or butter will start to melt.
  4. You can make these as drop cookies, slightly flattened with a fork  or roll out and cut into shapes. Decorate with sprinkles now or with icing after they cool.
  5. Bake for 12 – 15 minutes (Watch the timing closely as they brown up quickly — you must want a golden bottom, not “brown”.) Bake directly on cookie sheet

Enjoy!
